Kids Dig at The Rocks Discovery Museum (4–12 years)
In response to feedback from participants on the April school holiday Dig the following changes have been implemented:
- Sessions are now one hour.
- The exhibition area has been increased to include a ‘site office’ with archaeological related activities.
- All participants receive an activity book and the opportunity to enter our’ Mystery Artefact’ competition.
Archaeologists… Geologists…
Biologists… Historians…
We need your help to uncover hidden treasures and piece together stories from times long ago. No experience necessary.
Kids Dig is a hands-on, fun-filled event that simulates a real archaeological dig site in The Rocks. Using special brushes and sifters, children dress up as Junior
archaeologists
and uncover real objects buried within a safe and clean rubber “soil”. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to oversee the dig and help unravel the story of the site.
